Most of us are on Facebook these days, and if you aren’t, you should be just for the gardening related groups.
The first group I joined is North Texas Vegetable Gardeners. The name is a tad misleading, because there are members from pretty much all over Texas and other states too. Nonetheless, this is a great group to be a part of. Members share what things work for them, post photos of their gardens, and answer questions others ask. It’s a fun community whose aim is to share the love of gardening.
From that group I became a member of Antman’s Hill. If you want bug ID’s, this is the place for you. Nathan Riggs, a former Texas A&M AgriLife Extension entomologist, started this group in November 2014, to help the everyday Joe/Joette get information on insects without the overload of scientific names and such. Nathan, his admins, and other members do an awesome job helping folks identify bugs, get over fears of said bugs, and offer solutions to deal with them. There is fun and filled with humor all along the way, which makes the group so much better to be a part of.
