Bookmobile at the Farmer's Market
LARRY HARDY/T&D The DORA Farmer’s Market is held every Tuesday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. through August.

“We are very excited about this year’s market,” said market manager Ali Weathers. “We have a great mix of vendors this year, including all of last year’s farmers and some new faces.”

The market has 11 full-time vendors. The numbers have increased from its original six when the market started in 2015. This year’s market will have three new vendors. Estimates are the market attracts thousands of people every year.

“We are at capacity,” Weathers said.

The market will focus on locally grown fruits and vegetables such as squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, string beans, okra, peas, peanuts, peaches, potatoes, melons, peppers, butter beans, cantaloupes, watermelons and eggs.

Bowman’s Lowcountry Creamery will also participate in this year’s market occasionally.
