Nearly 20 people gathered on a sweltering day with one common goal: to create a self-sustaining and thriving pollinator garden in front of the Loveland Visitors Center.

The project was part of the ongoing Habitat Hero program created by Audubon Rockies. Members of the Loveland Rotary Club, the High Plains Environmental Center, Jax Mercantile and the Loveland Visitors Center all played a role in the installation of the garden as well.

“We’re delighted by our community and that people are willing to come out here and do this,” said Gary Light, Loveland Visitors Center manager.

Horticulture specialist Nancy Schmactenberger of Loveland Parks and Recreation said the Loveland Visitor Center was a worthy spot for the garden.
