Japanese maples are loved for their unique leaves and fall color yet offer so much more. Japanese maples (JM for short) bring year round interest and can be the centerpiece of any planting. Even in winter, colorful bark or well-pruned branches add structure and interest.

Indigenous to cooler climates, they can be a little difficult in Oklahoma’s clay, heat and wind.
