The Queen stepped out in a charming pink ensemble as she and Prince Philip hosted a garden party in the grounds of Holyrood Castle today.

The 91-year-old monarch donned a pink dress and matching hat for the event, which saw the royal couple welcome hundreds of well-wishers to the Edinburgh residence.

Paying attention to the smallest of details, the Queen made sure to carry an umbrella trimmed in exactly the same shade of rose as her outfit.
